The Route & Transport Links

It is a short step from Great Yarmouth Minster to the start of the Wherryman’s Way at Three Ways Meeting Point, just across Vauxhall Bridge, close to the Railway Station. The route is shown on Ordinance Survey Leisure Maps and GPX files are freely available on many blogs and websites. But they are not always accurate! Since Long Distance Path opened in 2005, several riverside stretches have become unsafe; and detours – some temporary, others more permanent – are in place at any one time. The route below is the best the Walsingham Way can find.

Information about closures and detours can be found on the Norfolk Trails website. We imagine many pilgrims will want to turn aside from the way marked path to visit churches, shops, places of refreshment and nature reserves, so an Ordinance Survey map of device is advised

For those wishing to complete the journey into series of day walks, there are good rail links to Reedham and the Berney Arms; an express bus service to and from Loddon; and Our Bus Route 85 links Rockland and Surlingham with Norwich.
